What is the main function
of the Funds and Programme Division (FPD)?
The Funds and Programmes Division
(FPD) was set up in July 2011 as part of an administrative structure required
to handle the management of EU Funds (with the exception of Structural Funds
and the Cohesion Fund) and other Funds allocated to Malta and to provide
guidance and support to the focal points of the EU and other Programmes that
are managed directly by the European Commission or other EU institutions.
The FPD fulfils a number of main
functions:
- National Focal Point for
the EEA and the Norwegian Grants;
- National Co-ordinator of
the Swiss-Maltese Cooperation Programme;
- National Contact Point for
the European Territorial Cooperation Programmes (ETC) 2014-2020;
- National Contact Point for
the Italia Malta Cross Border Programme 2014-2020;
- National Co-ordinator for
TAIEX and Twinning;
- National Contact Point for
the European Globalisation Fund (EGF) and the European Solidarity Fund;
- National Authority for the
ERASMUS+ Programme;
- Responsible Authority for
the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2014-2020 and Internal
Security Fund (ISF) 2014-2020;
- Managing Authority for the
European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD);
- Managing Authority for the
European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF);
- Coordination and guidance
to focal points of the various EU and other Funds and Programmes.
